Britmet LiteSlate Accessory Launch

Britmet Lightweight Roofing is proud to announce the launch of a new and innovative accessory range for their composite slate tile, Liteslate.

Introduced to the market in May 2019, Liteslate is an innovative, synthetic slate roofing tile with all the characteristics you can expect from a traditional slate tile. During the design process, real Welsh slate was used to perfect the aesthetics and performance qualities of the slate to create an unparalleled solution for the construction industry. After years of research and development, Britmet is launching the long-awaited accessory range to complete any Liteslate project.

The accessory range includes:

  • Liteslate Ridge – A ridge top cap that can be used on ridges and hips as it bends to meet your pitch requirements.
  • Ridge End Cap - Prefabricated Ridge End Cap designed to speed up project installation time.
  • Hip End Cap 90 - Provides the perfect finish to any project with a 90-degree hip, including Edwardian Conservatories.
  • Hip End Cap 135 – Provides the perfect finish to any project with a 135-degree hip, including Victorian Conservatories.
  • Liteslate Tile Vent – Designed to provide roof space ventilation without compromising the roof structure or aesthetic design.
  • Liteslate 3-way Ridge to Hip Junction - This flashing provides the perfect quick and easy solution to those pesky ' ridges to hip' junctions.

Britmet Liteslate has become an industry favourite, with an authentic finish with riven edges, traditional colour choices and impeccable durability. Eventually, the next step after launching Liteslate was to launch the Liteslate accessory range. Chris Morris, Technical Trainer, joined by countless of our installers, provided important feedback and constructive critiques which ultimately fastened the design process for each accessory.

Sales and Marketing Director, Chris Powell, said, ‘I’m extremely excited for the launch of our new Liteslate flashing range, the team at Britmet head office and our production facility have worked tirelessly to put together an easy to use a range of flashings that look as stunning as the product itself. We are especially pleased to offer the installer something of real value that will make life easier and will be more cost-effective to use on-site.’

Britmet is quickly becoming known for producing sustainable options for the lightweight roofing marketplace. Over 90% of the polymers that Liteslate is made from are recycled. In 2021, Britmet recycled over three million kilograms of polypropylene during their manufacturing process, and with increased production lines running, by the end of 2022, Britmet recycled a total of 8 million kilograms of polypropylene.
