The Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning - Britmet Lightweight Roofing

The most wonderful time of the year has rolled around again. At Britmet, we are proud to fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Support by hosting our very own Macmillan Coffee Morning at our Head Office in Banbury. Our team was encouraged to bake (or be willing to *cough cough* buy from a supermarket) to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity. We received a fantastic spread of cakes, from a blueberry tart to a trillionaire shortbread loaf and (somewhat controversial) homemade sausage rolls.

We had a fantastic turnout with everyone showing 100% effort, we had a record number of bakers this year for our 5th annual bake-off! This year, instead of judges, everyone voted for Best Looking, Best Tasting, and Best Faker, however, this meant that some of the titles were shared in joint first place.

The ‘Best Looking’ award this year was shared between Mali Minchin, with her scrumptious ‘Trillionaire Shortbread Loaf’, and Bridey Aris, thanks to her sister-in-law’s chocolate cake decorated to look like a garden.

Also, the title of ‘Best Tasting’ was shared between Pete Coaker, for his controversial entry of ‘Curry Sausage Rolls’, Tom Chadwick for his Carrot Cake with lime décor, and Gian Grossi for his Blueberry Tart.

Finally, the title of ‘Best Faker’ goes to Debbie Groom (for the 3rd year running), with yummy store-bought cakes that she layered into one!

We want to take this time to thank our team again for the fantastic effort this year. Hosting a Coffee Morning is the perfect chance to catch up over a cuppa and a slice of something delicious for a great cause.
